The Diablito Vase is made by Aidé Ramírez Cedillo, an award-winning Mexican ceramist. She crafts the pieces at her home and studio in the mountainous region of Oaxaca known as the Mixteca.
This small vase is handmade in the technique known as barro bruñido, or polished clay. It is made of clay collected in the region and is not glazed. Aidé uses natural pigment to paint these vases and an agate stone to polish each piece before firing, which is how the cups get their shine.
